Arrival in Tanzania
Once you land in tanzania Auresta Travel representative will meet you at kilimanjaro international airport (JRO) and transfer you to hotel in moshi. After a rest, our specialized guide will meet you to conduct pre-climb meeting and climbing equipment check. If any items are missing, they can be rented at this day.
After breakfast at your hotel, you will transfer to machame gate. Following all formalities & registration process the trek will start up to machame camp.
After healthier breakfast the trek will start to shira camp. The scenery is real stunning and the rainforest recede, you’ll ascend the dramatic rim to shira highland where we’ll be camping for the overnight.
Following breakfast we will ascend barranco campsite (3950m), heading toward the west of southern sloes of kibo. a break to have a lunch will be at lava tower (4630m) also known as ‘’shark’s tooth’’ then we descend to barranco camp (3950m) for, dinner and overnight. Although our day has been ended around the same altitude, acclimatization has been improved and will help your body for summit .
The Impressive Barranco Wall, You Will Climb over It! Cutting across A wall to karanga valley and junction that connect it to mweka trail. You will then descend to Karanga Camp for The overnight. This trek will enhance acclimatization process.
It will be a shorter day on the trail through the desolate volcanic desert. You may find the effects of the altitude making the day more challenging as you get acclimatized. Rest well tonight at barafu camp, as you’ll have a very early wakeup call around 00:00am!
At midnight time around 00:00 am you’ll awake to prepare for summit trek. Your headlamp is important gear at this moment. The early start ensures you’ll arrive at stella point for an incredible sunrise. The altitude and tricky footing through heavy scree and snow on the last stretch of your ascent will all be a challenge, but it’ll be worth once you reach the summit. We cannot spend such much time at the top as it’s too cold, the quickly descent to mweka camp will be useful. Please take an extra care of yourself as it where most accident tends to occur.
Today is your last day on the mountain as will go down to warmer rainforest climate mweka trail. At the gate you’ll meet a driver who will transfer you back to hotel. usually the crew will depart you at the gate and it’s a ideal moment for you to handshake, also a perfect location to tip them, say goodbye while sharing your appreciation/any opinion concerning a trek, it’s definitely time to celebrate.
