Overview
Though often ignored in goodwill of majestic Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru is a commendable trekker’s paradise. This massive volcano towers over 3,000 meters above Arusha city, which lies at the foothills on its south side. The mountain undergone a violent explosion in the distant past, and in its wake the explosion left towering cliffs in a gaping U shaped ridge facing east towards Kilimanjaro. The crater stands in a cosseted Amphitheatre of sort, thousands of feet below the summit rocks. The rocky peak lay at the western point of the summit ridge and overhang boldly into the sky at 4566 m (14,979 feet). From the top, one can look at Kilimanjaro from the highest perch possible perhaps there is no better point to fix your eyes.
ITINERARY
Arrive in Tanzania (Kilimanjaro International Airport)
You will meet Auresta Travel office representative at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transfer to your hotel in Moshi /Arusha town, after rest, your guide will visit you for briefing about the trek and do an equipment check to make sure you have all the necessary mountain gear. Then you will spend overnight in your hotel.

Tour Plan
After breakfast you will depart from your hotel to Momella Gate. You will see some places of Moshi and Arusha while on the way to the park gate. On arrival you will go through registration formalities, after that your first day starts accompanied by an armed ranger. It is common to spot giraffes, warthogs, buffalos, bushbucks and lots of bird species.

- Overnight: Miriakamba Hut (2500m).
Around 08:00am we will start our second day hike to Saddle Hut. We will pass through the steep path along the ridge of saddle. You will experience amazing views of the Meru crater; the ash cone and little Meru can be spotted. On the way you will explore the best flora and fauna in the forest. Reaching at Saddle Hut you will have a picnic lunch and rest before acclimatization to little Meru.

On the way to the Peak you will wake up at midnight and some coffee/tea with popcorn/ porridge will be ready for you. You will start your final climb to the summit. The trail is steep and you will climb through gravel and rocky ridges. After reaching at the top you will have a good time to take some pictures, and celebration before descent to Miriakamba (2,500 m).

Your final descent will pass through the tropical rain forest with wildlife species on the way. It will take us just about 5 to the park gate. Subsequently you will sign out and collect your certificate. A private vehicle will be ready to transfer you to hotel in Moshi for warm shower and celebration.
